Some old timers may remember when King's Cross got turned around (the diagrams I supplied Geoff with have KX at the left end, while the panel has it at the right end). I recall Geoff asking me one day: "How can I work out which version of King's Cross [name] has got?" "Which way round is it?" (I wrote a script to turn the internals around, so things like subroute identifiers are all back to front.) Log in to reply |

Manchester Oxford Road is another example, it got flipped when it moved into Manchester ROC "Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer Log in to reply |

And then there is, at least, Cardiff, where Right is East, and Left West, but N/S are flipped.

there's loads where SimSig has the orientation "wrong" compared to real life, normally where there's multiple smaller boxes involved. Barnsley for instance is upside down compared to the real panel, but fits onto Sheffield's correctly oriented layout. "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply |

Why on earth would they do that - it means you have to say "on your right" when the diagram says something is on their left. Mind, Cardiff was the place where there were non-existent points on the diagram. Log in to reply |
