Hello! My sig loader is not wanting to update and says it is not communicating with the server, even with internet working. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

Unless you have edited them out in the screenshot, you haven't entered a username and password to connect to the server.

Your firewall or antivirus might be blocking outbound connections from the Loader. What software do you use for those? Or standard Windows Defender?

I sometimes get that but clicking on Start a new simulation usually nudges it along. Peter. I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

After you have put your username and password in, did you click on "Check For Updates"? Also, what Firewall/Anti-Virus do you use? It may be that although you THINK they are not the issue they could very easily be. Log in to reply |

Have you tried uninstalling the loader then downloading it again from the website and re-installing?

Was the failure immediate or did it take a few seconds? I spent some time looking through the server log files with the IP address you had when you posted here and there is not a single instance of a request from the Loader with that IP address. So I looked under your username as well and again, no entries from the Loader, just from your browser. Since your browser is getting through and the Loader is not from the same machine, I'm afraid I refer to my earlier suggestion: check what's blocking the Loader. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

Arthur you are logging into to the website and the loader on the same machine, and not running the loader through a virtual machine are you ?? If so try logging into the website from the other/virtual machine and then try check for updates. Passed the age to be doing 'Spoon Feeding' !!! I have highlighted the same issue in this post: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/PostView/128533 One more thing to observe in this issue is even if your data connection is off and you press the "Check for update" button, it will immediately show that the loader is upto date! It seems the bug lies somewhere in the basic loader itself due to the above issue. BTW which OS are you using? Is it Windows 7? Because the problem for me has cropped on a Windows-7 machine while the loader and sims are working very well on two other Windows-10 machines. Khalid. Log in to reply |

No Win 7 problems for me (two machines / locations tested, one with flaky ADSL) One oddity that might only be Win7 is that if I have run SimSig the PC now takes a very long time to close down - around 4 minutes not 15 seconds. As I had some 'testing' access, I only noticed this on v5 loaders, not earlier v4.99 testing builds. is it Ok on Win10 for others ? Bill Log in to reply |
