This may be a failure mode that is common across all sims, but this is the first time that I have knowingly noticed the failure of a position light signal associated with a main aspect. If that is the case, then apologies in advance if this has already been mentioned elsewhere.

When the PL failed at signal T496 (Redhill) the Driver reported that the signal was unlit. Whilst this is technically true, should the call actually state that the Driver is waiting at a red signal - as the Driver wouldn't necessarily know that the position light signal was unlit given that is it's normal state anyway.

But the signal isn't red, its unlit. Therefore, the train is stood at an unlit signal, not a red signal.

Edit, Just opened the sim, and looked, I withdraw my comment above, I was thinking it was a running shunt.

Sorry to be pedantic, but isn't the correct term "subsidiary aspect" in this case. Position light (or ground position light) is a signal generally used during shunting.

I think "position light aspect" would be acceptable, since it's an aspect using a position light. I agree a position light signal is one that only shows position light aspects.

(Though since the current standard uses colours as much as positions, even that's a bit of a stretch.)

Tbf, I thought the correct term for this type of signal is as the subject title for this thread, and Subsidiary signals were more commonly used when talking about semaphore signalling. Some Subsidiary signals could/would have a C (proceed at caution towards the next train, buffer stop signal and prepare to stop short of any obsctruction) or an S for Shunting only.
