Just wondering if there any plans to include the Aberdeen-Inverness Improvement Plan changes into this route? Would be quite fun to operate the "Aberdeen Crossrail" on the double track to Dyce and Inverurie! (named for the one in Tasmania, not in Russia) Log in to reply |

The double track only goes as far as Hutcheon Street Tunnel. Its single track in the approach to Aberdeen Station north. There is a more comprehensive loop at Kittybrewster to deal with the goods line to Waterloo. A number of new and additional signals have been installed all the way to and from Inverurie. Semaphore signalling has also been removed in that section. Dyce signal box has been demolished. A new station called Kintore will shortly be operational between Inverurie and Dyce.
