The West Highland Line has a special place in my heart for reasons I won't go into but I would love to see Banavie Signalling Centre comprising of the north and south workstations as well as the 30 lever Fort William Junction S.B. It would be completely unique as it mostly runs on RETB and as it hasn't change much since the late 80s many different WTTs could be implemented. I would be happy to even have a go at coding such a thing (although it's been about 15 years since I did any coding

I'd be willing to take some time to design a mock-up if I could find Fort William's Diagram! but think it's sady been said before that in SimSig it'd be mainly sitting on phones (just like the real banavie SCC) but I'd try it if it came!

(It's amazing how hard it is to find ANY interior shots of fort William SB, (Banavie is easier but still hard) they have done very well to hide from the camera all these years!)

Try
https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/139525-fort-william-old-signalling/
for the old layout, and old station
Also bear in mind that 'Fort William Jn' is quite a new name, it was 'Mallaig Jn' until quite recently.

As for the 'new' station, might be simple enough to determine from images ?
A starter from me

This is a suggestion that has cropped up a number of times over the years (most recently as far as I can find in 2015 at https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/40389?postId=76890).

While there may be lots of complexity in the creation of the simulation, there would be very little to do in an operating sense if modelled on prototypical timetables. At the Fort William end of the line a dozen trains in a 24 hour period would be a very busy day with only two real decisions for the signaller (about where The Jacobite and the service train should cross). Even if the whole of the area through to Helensburgh Upper (including the Oban line from Crianlarich) were included there would still be little to keep the SimSig signaller occupied.

A beautiful line to travel but I'm not sure it would be a good use of a developer's time as far as SimSig is concerned.

Didn't Peter previously Suggest that IF the WH was done, it would more than likely end up being pre RETB anyway.

Mainly, I imagine as the developer worked there. Now the GC on Gala day on the other hand...

I did think of the GCR, started on a mock up somewhere, as the intense service with AB, Bi-Di working, Tokens and sidings galore would be rather a fun challenge, with the option of adding in the Northern Extention when it is eventually finished!

Not really funny when you think about it.

It was Karls first simulation, to prove he knew what he was doing and capable of. No Llangollen would have meant no other welsh sims for starters.

Theres no bidirectional signalling. The up main between Swithland and Rothley has a signalled wrong direction shunt movement but that's it, but this is probably a discussion best made on the relevant mockups thread.

At a complete tangent but relevant to Fort William, a clip from the Diary column in The Times this morning:

'Gavin Weightman enters our bad restaurants series with a tale from the sleeper train from Fort William to London. Settling down for dinner, he heard the woman at the next table ask the waiter about the fish of the day. “Does the Mornay sauce have wine in it?” she asked. “Yes,” the waiter said. “The cook breathed on it.” She went for the steak.'

Here are some I took in 2013 which I've eventually managed to locate on an external HDD. Not a great camera back then and lots of light reflecting off the diagram but hopefully you can see enough.

And here is the box, the frame and the tiny ScR Geographical interlocking in the relay room next door.

And while we're at it, here's Banavie also in 2013 (pre RETB NG). I've been in there since then but can't find the photos.

The "Raise" button has an "Up" light. The "Lower" button has a "Down" light. The "Stop" button has a "Red road lights" light… so does "Stop" turn on the stop lights or does it stop the barriers from moving?

(named for the one in Tasmania, not in Russia)

The emergency stop button stops the barriers moving. The red road lights indication is not associated with the emergency stop button, it's just laid out next to it.

The operating sequence is -

1) Lower button pressed to start sequence, up indication extinguishes
3) Red road lights indication illuminates when red lights start after 3 seconds of amber
4) Down indication illuminates when barriers are proved down
