I'm sorry but can you amend the "Licence removed, simulation will terminate immediately" feature. This is always spurious, and spoils every sim I play whenever my PC or laptop go to sleep. Surely this couild be amended simply wait for the server to be contacted? LostLicence save never works. Locking the licence makes no difference. I have spent £100s of pounds on SimSig sims and feel I am treated like a fraudster every time this happens. Even if I have remembered to save it is a pain having to restart and reposition all the windows again. I have set autosave to every 5 minutes in case this happens unexpectedly. This one feature has ruined my enjoyment of a game I had previously enjoyed for many years. I'll be sticking to the free sims and won't be buying any new sims until this is resolved. I see others have made similar complaints but no support or help has been offered and no pledge to correct this has been made.

Theres two saves which should be produced. Lostlicence is produced when the sim looses contact with the server and can't see a licence, but there's also a sperate one if your PC sleeps which is wakeup.ssg I cant say I've had any issues with the latter as my PC sleeps, wakes up and I can continue as normal OR load wakeup.ssg. if you're looking for lostlicence rather than wokeup in that situation, it might explain why it isn't loading correctly? I cant answer the issue with the licence being lost randomly as I've not experienced it. Hopefully someone else can assist with that. It still requires a bit of manual work before running the app to set windows that you want to see rather than being hidden behind other views to "stay on top" but saves me a lot of hassle. I think the latest version is attached to this post. The usual disclaimer that the app is not supported by SimSig applies; any use of the software is at your own risk. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply The following user said thank you: paul87101 |

I think I heard somewhere that the file is only saved after you close the game. Log in to reply |

You indicated this also happened with simulations that were locked to your computer, which is surprising. Could you upload a log file (Simsig Loader0.log or another number, whichever file is more recent, in C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig) next time the sim stops working?

At the risk of patronising, whilst also checking some fundamental basics, can you attach a snip of a screenshot showing the licence locked to the machine? just to rule out no human error in locking it. the equivelant of checking you turned the power on when something won't work

Even with the previous licencing system in the v4 series of the loader, Simsig would occasionally and erroneously claim that the licence had expired and subsequently terminate itself. This happened only very rarely, but it did happen. Thanks for all of the above. Yes I am using V5.15. I tried chaining Rugby S and Rugby C last night, one locked and one dynamic and yes the dynamic sim lost its licence whilst the other was still ok this morning. I have definetely had problems in the past with locked licences and I was trying the dynamic as a last resort but this has made things worse. My point is that instead of only being allowed to click OK and being unceremoniously kicked out, could we not be offered a Rescan Now or Retry button so we could check a licence has been locked or confirmed via the server after the PC wakes up and re-establishes an internet connection?

I noticed this after i changed my laptop. I will lock the licences to see if that helps. Will it lock Sims that are already underway?

Hi Paul, the next time this happens to you, please post the most recent log file from C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig, and tell us whether the sim in question was locked to your PC at the time. Otherwise it's hard to say why this affects you more than others. (I've had this message only once or twice with an older loader version.)

I was carrying on a New St sim offline on my laptop. After a few minutes "Simulation has expired" and I was kicked out. No Lostlicence or WokeUP save file, no log file in above location. New Street is locked to my laptop which has Loader V5.15. Luckily I was half expecting this so I had already saved the sim. Log in to reply |
