Running the Westbury 130220 timetable and have a query.

Couldn’t find any Forum posts reporting this but 5C12 has entered the sidings where it reverses, exits the siding and heads for the Engine sidings.
Is it right that it’s at the buffer stops and I've got to reverse it? Not that I mind doing so; just seems a bit odd.
It also happened with the previous train in the siding but I don’t recall earlier trains behaving in this manner.

Not sure if a save or any other information is required, but if it is please let me know.

Edit: Perhaps this is all quite normal because there is an option to reverse it when it calls in.

Let's see if I've got this right.
You have a train that's arrived into Trowbridge Dn Sidings from somewhere (where?)
it's reversed and gone from the siding to the engine sidings and now it's stuck at some buffer stops (where)?

So what's the issue and where?

Firstly, a save is almost always useful whenever a user is having an issue or perhaps suspects a bug with a simulation. So if you've got one available then I am sure it would be appreciated.

But at the moment, I am a wondering if perhaps the train is incorrectly timetabled, or you have perhaps sent the train to the wrong location? Your thread title says Down Trowbridge Siding, but your screenshot shows the train as being destined for Up Trowbridge Siding?

See my cropped screenshot below for the two different sidings - it appears from your screenshot the train you've got should currently be sat in 'the green circled siding'.

Looks like a train for the Up Trowbridge siding was routed into the Down Trowbridge siding. I've made this mistake before and reported this before in some TT thread without noticing that the train was intended to go to a different siding.

You need to reverse the train, then it'll run into the Engine Sidings and go off sim.

Perhaps we should have some shorthand way of indicating that you should always read the timetable rather than following your instincts (RTFTT perhaps).

The timetabled location for 5C12 appears to be incorrect - the train should probably be timetabled for "Westbury Dn Trow. Sdg" instead. Or if no conflicts it could be timetabled for Westbury North Jn (Rev), to allow it to reverse on the Down Trowbridge between Signals 115 and 722.

'Westbury North rev' is the safer one for timetabling, as you can still use the down Trowbridge siding to reverse anyway.
The Up Trowbridge siding does need its' own location to work and only trains timetabled there will reverse correctly.

Oh, dear me. I’ve gone and misread the timetable yet again. ☹

Thank you those who have pointed this out to me. To be honest, I didn’t even see that there was an “Up Trowbridge” siding.
I know that I have said this before but I will take more time to read them properly in future.

Apologies for wasting everybody’s time.

Oh man, you've just given me a severe case of déjà vu! Did exactly the same thing myself last time I played Westbury!

I did come across a timetable error once.

2F91 travels to Westbury P1 from Warminster (where it reversed). The TD changes to 5F91 and the timetable says that it is to go to the Westbury Engine Sidings via the Up Trowbridge Sidings.
As you can see from the screenshot, this is actually impossible. It has to go via the Down Trowbridge Sidings.

Simple solution – I just changed the timetable.

Which timetable are we talking about? I would suggest posting bugs like these in the respective timetable thread so the TT authors get a chance to amend it.

It's the Westbury 130220 PLUS.

I could have sworn that I put this in an earlier post but obviously forgot to submit it.

I'll put the relevant information in the appropriate Timetable thread as you suggest.

I am running this timetable again as I found it really enjoyable the first time around.

It would appear that the timetable of 5C12 incorrect. I should have noticed this and amended the timetable accordingly.
Does Network Rail make this kind of mistake when preparing a timetable?

2C12 was timetabled to terminate in P2 from where it would then go to the Engine Sidings with the new Headcode 5C12.
Trains can’t be sent to the Engine Sidings from any of the platforms unless sent via the ‘DN.Trowbridge SD’G or 'Westbury North rev' as Bill has suggested.

I do remember when the all-line (public) timetable was published as a hefty book it was quite common to have to return to the station to pick up an equally hefty erratum book.

On Simsig you can also send a train towards East Loop Jn and reverse. Whether it's ever done in practice I haven't a clue, but it can be useful, particularly if Hawkridge junction is blocked by a train going round the loop towards Trowbridge as you can't send a train onto the Trowbridge until the junction is clear (overlap problem). This doesn't happen at East Loop Jn.
