Line-Examining Train Calls Back Immediately 05/10/2021 at 03:23 #141777 | |

A weird one from earlier in my session: I had a train (1F04) awaiting departure at Didcot platform 3 and a TCF just outside the station on the adjacent line leading to platform 4. As a result, I waited for 1F04 to call in and asked the driver to examine the line. I was about to set the route when the driver called back immediately and told me the line was now clear. I hung up and set the route, only for the driver to call yet again to inform me that they were going to be delayed due to requiring a replacement driver. Sounds like somebody suddenly realised they needed their PNB! I have attached a save, but it is from immediately after the incident. Unfortunately, as it was the first save since the start of the sim, I do not have any from before the incident to upload. Gwasanaethau (Mark). Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Update: This happens from platform 4 as well. I have attached a save from immediately before the driver of the train (1F03 in this case) calls.

Trains will always end their line examination (and call back) if they encounter a station stop. In this case, it would seem they also consider Didcot, which they just departed, as a new station stop.

It's the difference between this and waiting for the driver to call that made me think this was possibly unintended behaviour. Log in to reply |
