On Friday a truck got stuck on a level crossing in somewhere called Thackerville and a passenger train went right through it. There is some spectacular video taken by a bystander: https://www.facebook.com/ABCNews/videos/533826181385864/ A few minor injuries on the train. The truck driver and his dog were unhurt. One car bracketed by two engines makes me think it was a PTC test train. Turned a nice easy day into a nightmare.

Well I missed that somehow. PTC is positive train control, essentially combining PSR enforcement, stop signal protection and temporary speed restriction enforcement. I operate trains in NYC so I've only seen Amtrak trains this short as test trains. Log in to reply |

He does have some interesting YouTube videos though. SimSig Boss Last edited: 22/10/2021 at 17:40 by GeoffM Reason: None given Log in to reply |
