Hi, There seems to have developed a fault whereby the Down Shunters Release isn't always forthcoming, if the trains are out of order at Shoeburyness C.S.D. (possibly due to platforms already in occupation). I've got grumpy drivers calling me and no way to release the catch points and set the route! Thanks Jamie Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Sorry Jamie can you expand a little on what happened to get to this stage? Except by blatant/deliberate abuse I can't actually get the slots to lock up as you have in your saves – even with severe late running a departing train gives a release when it enters, as expected. Not at all saying you've done it deliberately - just that there's evidently an edge case not being handled somewhere but I can't see what it is. Mantis 35409 for investigation. Log in to reply |

Thanks James, There's a couple of things that I think might affect it. Due to the locked-up Up exit, some trains had to be re-timetabled at short notice to use the Down outlet and change ends at SRY. However that seemed to work and TT verified fine. The likely issue is when the ARS has placed a very delayed ECS into the "approach" berth at its expected time, I've cleared that berth in order for ARS to release a working that's plunged a TRTS. And I think that's getting the virtual shunter into an erroneous state. Ideally the depot roads wouldn't be interposed until there is an actual train actually ready :) Thanks Jamie Jamie S (JAMS) Log in to reply |

You're probably right, you intervened in a way that broke the sequence. 9pN1SEAp in post 143265 said: Ideally the depot roads wouldn't be interposed until there is an actual train actually ready :)But that would not be prototypical. IRL the shunter is supposed to interpose up to 5 minutes early the next train booked out. As an aside, the country end is supposed to handle one train waiting to leave the sidings while another is ready to enter the sidings. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |
