The way trains depart stations is a little bit irritating. When trains have longer than 1 minute timed at a station e.g arrive 01:23, depart 01:25. If the train arrived at 01:24, it would likely still depart on time, although SimSig makes the train depart after what seems to be the whole 2 minutes + dispatch time. It would be nice to have a method to have the minimum loading/unloading time so that once the train has been in the station 1 minute it would depart on time. Another thing that could be improved is the simulated dispatch time. In reality the process starts 30 seconds before departure. It would be nice if this was the same in SimSig as trains are leaving 20 seconds after they are scheduled to which may not sound like much, but adds up over larger simulations. It can cause tightly timed trains to arrive 20 seconds late, then depart 40 seconds late and so on. I only request these as while playing Three Bridges, trains are loosing 2 minutes while having all green signals. It is specific trains especially ones coming from Lancing and Oxted. Any further ideas/thoughts on this would be welcomed. Log in to reply |

Minimum dwell times have been in SimSig since day 1. Dispatch logic starts about a minute before the train departs, with RA status something like 15-20secs before booked departure, allowing the train to depart on time. If you have a saved game where this is not happening, please attach it. SimSig Boss Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Trainman525 |

Here there are 2 examples of what seems to be happening all the time on Three Bridges: 1P16 at Caterham gave a TRTS as expected (60 seconds before expected departure). It only shows waiting for RA at the booked departure time (which is at the same time as this save). Another example from this save is at Gatwick Platform 4, 1F13 arrived 2.5 minutes early and then only went to RA status 20 seconds after it was due to depart. This is happening for all the trains that I have watched throughout this save. EDIT: This is with failures and train delays set to 0. I know the railway can be disrupted and not all trains run on time, but I like to play SimSig just to try and run the schedule as it should. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. It looks like the dwell times are wrong - 2 minutes. We'll look into it. In the meantime, if you wish you could go in to F4, Train Types tab, find SN Class 377, and shorten the Station Forward to 20 seconds instead of 2 minutes - there are a few.

Thank you for taking a look, I have adjusted the dwell times but I don't understand how 1F13 was at Gatwick for 5 minutes (Surely more than the dwell time) and still departs 20 seconds late. Is there any reason for this while having perfect running? Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |
