In the 2009 timetable, 3J92 (DBS Cl66+2 FEA+Cl66) entered from Wellingborough, travelled to Kentish Town, reversed direction and headed back to Bedford, then repeated the to-ing and fro-ing, before finally heading back to Wellingborough.

I’d be interested to know why it does this? I know that FEA means ‘Finite Element Analysis’ because I have a list of Railway Terms, but what does this actually mean?

Everything that you make will be useful - providing it's made of chocolate.

FEA is a TOPS wagon code. F = intermodal flat, E = general letter to differentiate wagons A = air braked. So FEA, FXA, FYA etc are all various types of intermodal flat.

That train is a sandite/RHTT with the tanks mounted on the flat wagons. It shuttles in order to treat all the running lines
