Running the simulation in the 1990's era I encountred something new. I have a train approaching Bedford on the Down Fast and set the route inte platform 2 when the train was approaching signal 141. Signal 143 began rapidly changing between a red and green aspect on the panel (red and single yellow in "reality". Once the train approached signal 143 it changed to a normal, steady aspect. I have experienced exactly this kind of signal failure in real life, but never before in Simsig. Is it a new kind of failure I've missed, or a bug in the simulation? Post has attachments. I can't answer about this particular situation, but I once received a bug report for Peterborough that was just like this. Here's the explanation I posted at the time: 612 and 608 have special controls on them, which have been verified by a signaller at Peterborough who also observed them happening. These are: * 612 does not show green when routed towards 608; * 608 does not clear until the approaching train has reached T0022 (the berth TC for 612) with 612 off; * 608 does not show green until the approaching train has passed 612. (These last two are because, apparently, 608 is visible to a train approach 612 and might cause a read-through.) So the scenario we have is: (1) Route set from 612, 612 at single yellow (and flashing yellows in rear), 608 red. (2) Train enters T0022. (3) 608 clears to single yellow and 612 to double. (4) 608 fails to light, so the lamp failure logic puts 612 back to red. (5) 608 drops back to red because 612 has not cleared. (6) 608 is now lit, so 612 clears to single yellow. (7) Return to step 3. Eventually the train passes 612 and 608 can clear to green (alight). So that was not a sim bug, it was faithfully replicating real life! https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/52766 Log in to reply The following user said thank you: sunocske |

Feels to be some kind of circular logic like that. However F11 (incident panel) does not show any failures for any signals / points. From the save, 345 cycles Y - R - Y just once for some reason. While the save shows the problem, so far I have not been able to reproduce on a one train test timetable. Log in to reply |

Is that the same as this one? https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/51302?postId=131412 That found its way to Mantis 31505. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply The following user said thank you: bill_gensheet |

It looks exactly like that, but I cannot duplicate Tried several saves now with a test train is approaching the FY (or FYY). Tried with several train positions (eg before signal, after signal but before TC join, straddle TC join .....) I am Loader 5.19, as is the users' save so should be OK. I wonder if there was an earlier save that set this up, and was with a loader before the fix ? Log in to reply |

I can get it to happen from the save and it cycles through, but I can't reproduce it like I did on Westbury.
