Do you think you've found a bug? Or do you have a problem running the simulation, check through this thread first.

Remember timetables are dealt with in the relevant timetable thread.

Should there be a route from the Up main to P2 direct?

Set a route from S19 to S165 it doesnt seem to like but routing via S221 as pictured below seems to work.

In the PSB days there was not a route direct from S19 to S165. It is correct that it has to be via the shunt signal on the down relief.

There are notes in the timetable of 5W01 to remind the user that they have to go via S221 signal if the train is booked to go into P2 from west junction. (There are multiple versions of 5W01 with different routings at Slough which are decisioned to give variety of routings)

When the PSB closed and control was passed across to TVSC, a direct route from S19 to S165 (or the equivalent signal numbers if they have been renumbered) was implemented so these days trains are able to arrive into P2 in the Up direction under main aspects

Accidentally I routed a loco from Langley reception to Langley P3, and then I found out there is no signalled route from S271 to S133 for the run-round move. Is it prototypical?

My understanding is that yes it is prototypical
S271 only provides a route into the reception siding so all run rounds have to happen in P4 using the LOS

Both above points now clarified in the manual, with the answers y10g9 correctly gave.

Just an observation, which doesn't adversely affect sim operation, trains entering on the Down & Up Main lines descriptions appear immediately, whereas train descriptions appear approximately 10 seconds after trains enter on the Up Relief, and one minute after trains enter on the Down Relief.

A Signal Number Plan has now been uploaded to Slough's wiki page. As very little changes visually between the 2 eras, a hybrid plan has been produced.
The plan is also available here

The modern-day TVSC equivalent of that route does give flashing aspects; and has done since 2015.

But in the drawings, tables and diagrams used to compile the sim there’s no indication or suggestion that there were ever any flashing routes at Dolphin Jn - in all the documentation I’ve used to compile the sim the only flashing aspects route on the whole panel was S120 to S24 at Slough West, and the date they were installed is noted etc etc.

Are you able to provide a rough timeframe to when you think these flashing aspects were present? It would help narrow down which “era” of paperwork I need to go back through and double check.

Mid nineties ? maybe earlier
Ruscombe got them first on Reading PSB, obvs everything was app control before the introduction of "flashers" back in the day

Thanks for that Jem - I’ll have another look through but we did have some very comprehensive research material and no flasher route was mentioned for Up Relief to Up Main; whereas there’s pages of bits and bobs about the flasher route from S120 to S24 at Slough West.
