Creating a new thread due to pinned thread for the TT locked due to age.

Trian 5H02 on arrival at Skipton Pl4 for the first time (after L4031/4549) should have a position of Near or Near exact due to the subsidiary aspect on 4038 signal being approach locked into the Down stabling siding, requiring tract section TNB to be occupied. Default stopping position for this train does not have it in this track section and therefore does not receive a proceed aspect into the sidings.

If you let things run on until due departure time the ECS starts to move towards the signal, allowing the signal to clear once the relevant TC is occupied.

Given the length of time the sim and TT have been available a problem as fundamental as this would surely have been reported long ago.

That depends if anyone else identified it as a problem or accepted it worked so wasn't incorrect. Skipton certainly isn't the only location where this race condition occurs, for which there isn't a true fix. Presumably in real life, the driver would call to obtain permission to draw forwards towards the signal.

I did and waited for departure time and 5 minutes over. F2 status was waiting for right away from Skipton. It is the same reason why a train on 9B of BNS won't move towards FWY if only 217 is off, but 218 is still on. It is a TT bug.

Correlation is not causation. Whether or not a core code change has caused it, I'don't know. It's still at TT bug

They're two different things. In the case of "signal won't show proceed until train is close; train won't move until signal is showing proceed", SimSig usually handles this by identifying the chicken and egg situation, like Postal said.

In the case of New Street, trains in real life are not dispatched until the end platform signal is showing proceed, so this is correct behaviour. There are cases of shunting along the platform but that's not the case here.

We have different experiences then. I ran the sim, watched a debug for the ECS and it started moving towards the signal before the signal cleared.
