Cannot Get P72 to Clear After Resuming Cornwall Chain 16/02/2023 at 21:04 #150498

Hi all!

I have just resumed a chain between Plymouth and Cornwall using the default timetables. When I saved, I had P72 (Liskeard fringe) clear with the auto function on. I know that when a chain is restarted from saves the signals on the fringes are returned to danger and have to be reset (the amount of times I've tripped myself up forgetting this in previous chains is unbelievable!) but in this case, clearing the route and resetting it doesn't seem to clear the signal - the approaching 1C99 still stops at the signal at danger.

I have tried clearing the auto buttons and all the signals in the cluster before resetting them all, but it still won't clear the signal. My suspicion is that it might have something to do with the auto buttons covering multiple signals. Has anyone come across this before?

Saves attached; and thanks!

Mark (Gwasanaethau)

P70 needs to be restroked. AB regs.

Edit: 1C99 comes to a stand at P72 and does indeed call in.
I cancelled the route from 70 - 72, then called route 72 - LD35 and it clears.

I'm gonna seek some more info on this before committing it to Mantis, just because it's on an AB section.

Was 72 at G before you ended the session and taken the save?

Mark,

The overlap for P72 forms part of the chain, when you connect the two together you see everything from that point on drop grey then light up white again.

If you restroke both P70 and P72 they will both come off correctly and the train proceeds.

It think the question is if the route was G all the way across the boundary, then the save was reopened to show 72 at R?

It was green before the save, if you open up Plymouth alone its all still off, only reverts when the chain reconnects and the route locking transfers from one sims control to the other.

Hiya!

Thank you both for having a look at it. In all of my testing and messing to get it to work, I think I must have let 1C99 pass signal P70 before I thought to restrike it, so it could have messed with my process. Cancelling both P70 and P72 immediately upon restarting and then resetting them seems to work perfectly. I knew it was something I was doing wrong! XD

Thanks again!

Mark (Gwasanaethau).

EDIT: P72 was already cancelled when the chain is set up, so only P70 needed to be cancelled upon restart.
