This train is routed to Petteril Junction and is to reverse at CE402. The problem I have is the train is too long to clear signal CE404 so that it can then go to Platform 3 at Carlisle. I tried to take it past CE402 so that it could clear the signal behind but I receive wrong route set messages. Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help.

Please can you attach a save game or snapshot so we can see what's going on.

Prototypical according to this post by the original sim developer. For main routes from CE406 or CE407 you would click from that signal direct to the Esso Sdgs exit triangle. Routing from the shunt signal CE405, set the route to CE402 then from CE402 to the Esso Sdgs. The train will then run past CE402 and stop when it is clear of CE404.

Tried using the advice given as a basis with the following results.

Couldn't set route from CE405 direct to Esso sdgs with 5Z76 waiting at CE405 but could set to CE402 and then CE402 to Esso sdgs. but still got wrong route set message when train reaches CE402.
Tried setting route backwards from Esso sdgs to CE275 to release 5Z76 from Upperby Bridge area but still get wrong route set at CE402 and rear of train still not passing signal CE404 to enable reverse.

The attached ssg file shows 5Z76 at CE402

Not had chance to look fully so on a quick glance, the train is booked a reversal at Signal CE402. Changing the location to CE404 works as I'd expect.

Backing up whet James (@pedroathome) has posted, a quick use of the Search facility on the Forum shows that @Dionysusnu first reported this issue here on 01/05/22 after which it was corrected in the TT with the reversing location changed from CE402 to CE404 and an updated version made available for download.

The version you are running is v0.8.18 while the latest version is v1.2.8.

I didn't pick up on that first time round as I was working from the TT downloaded from the web-site so didn't query the reversing location. Once you uploaded the saved game the cause of the problem became apparent.
