Would it be possible to have 'Last Reported Delay' (as reported in the 'Show Timetable' popup) as an additional column in F2?

This would allow users to sort by 'Last Reported Delay' and create a list of trains by delayed minutes. This would really help those who like a snapshot of delays realtime.

Many thanks!

Sorry Ive edited my original post, I wrote it in a bit of a hurry.

What i was supposed to say is the 'last reported delay' should be shown in the F2 window!

Hey Chris

We're going to collaborate on this because there's a lot of other factors to take into account. Primarily how this function would be used.

It's all fine and well trying to minimise delays be regulating from the information that you would have, but at the same time this doesn't necessarily
represent what happens in the real world.

For example, a late running freight might actually be worthwhile running ahead of a passenger as it would cause a lesser delay through to its destination, taking into account passing points, dwells times, crew changes etc. TDAs/TRCs and so forth communicate between regions to ensure that trains meet PPM as close as possible.

If this was added, the above would have to be taken into account... that sometimes letting a heavily delayed train go through first is actually best for business.

I hope this makes some sense.

Cheers
Craig

Hi Hap,

Thanks for your reply.

One of the biggest reasons for my request is when im hosting, lets say Kings Cross, and ive got 5 signallers on panels I quite enjoy the role of control staff. As you will probably know in the real world we have Genius which using the train movements page can give you a quick snapshot of how things are running and which trains may need to be focussed on for alteration. Id love to see this implamented in some way on SimSig. Even if it wasnt on F2 and was available on a seperate tab.
I know SIMSIG is primarily about signalling and this feature request may not be needed by signallers in the real world, but if the information is out there already and can be used to make the whole SimSig simulation more enjoyable for all then I hope its something that can be looked at.

Ive attached an old delay capture to show those who dont know what im talking about in terms of what information is out there for real time delay capture.

In the short term could you use the departure board add on?

I did wonder about that, even if someone wanted to try and create something similar for train running info, however if all the data is already in the sim I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to have an extra column in F2!

For departure board don't you have to click on each individual station to find delays?

Not a bad idea. You van already get this info from an F8 screen, although it's sorted by location rather than by train of course (similar to a TRJS input).

In some ways a better option for a control perspective might be the option to colour TDs by delay status for all sims, not just ARS fitted ones, which would give you something akin to a CCF screen, showing delays, but relevant to the local area.

That's certainly one for the wishlist.

Yes I agree an option to show colour status by train would be a great idea. But one that may not be as easy to implement as the F2 column.
