Been playing SimSig for quite a while now, one of my favorites area to control is the free Brighton simulation and ive already completed the entire 24 hour 2009 timetable supplied with the route.

My question is whats a good (and free) signal box thats a step up in complexity from the brighton simulation, but not as big of a step up compared to Kings X?

Carlisle might be an option - although it's got 3 panels the South section is pretty much plain line with the only odd exception.

The 1979 TT for Carlisle would not be an option as it is probably at least as demanding as Kings Cross The later era TTs with the avoiding lines no longer is existence would probably be suitable.

You could try Kings Cross with one of the simpler user timetables as a way into the sim.

There's a Boxing day 2017 ficticious/Sunday-ish and also my 1964 'Lite' (Passenger).

As solo player I'd suggest either Derby or Warrington, both are busy enough for one person to handle especially with the line closures you can select. Also there are a good variety of TTs available from BR days up to the present eras. I wouldn't suggest Three Bridges if you enjoyed Brighton, even with ARS a solo player soon gets overwhelmed.
