I’m enjoying Central Coast immensely so far, having picked it up on the 12 days of Christmas sale. I’m into the afternoon peak on the 2011 timetable, with mostly good results so far. The Morisset K sets got me though. The N848 -> N841 double up in the up refuge with N850 -> N853 -> N840 -> N839 caused no end of confusion. I’ve gone back and run it through again from a prior save point and it worked, so the problem was me. That’s a pretty weird piece of working, even by railway standards. The first train comes from Newcastle, first stop Morisset (so probably empty), goes in the up refuge. The second train comes from Newcastle all stops, also goes in the refuge, and comes back out to go all stops back from whence it came. The first train then follows it back, presumably empty. It has to be genius, because it’s probably too late to drug test the timetable folks responsible. That was pre Sydney Trains, the responsible parties probably got redundancy and fled (more power to them). But wow! Newcastle had a better pass service than I’d have suspected. Weirder, but better. It might be a training run. I know they used to do ones from Sydney Terminal to Hawkesbury River with V sets years ago. Unfortunately I don't have a working timetable from that era I could look at to assist you.

Yeah, there's a 2-car K set which does a couple of runs between Newcastle and Morisset down and back empty both ways, Wednesday and Friday only on the SWTT document. Can only assume it was for driver training or some other route qualification purpose, but the SWTT doesn't specifically say. Very glad to hear you're enjoying it! Log in to reply |
