Hi chaps from an expat down under and a complete beginner to all this. I've been playing Royston for a few days and seem to manage ok. Have moved up to Gloucester and have read everything I can find on the sim. This will be a stupid question I know but on starting I have 0X00 and 5B602 waiting at a red signal. There are no trains to shunt and they don't appear so what do I do and where are they? Also is there any way to find out what all the acronyms on a sim mean? eg CS, U & D GDS, CE DEPOT. Many thanks, Steve Log in to reply |

If you press the F2 key, you see a list of all the trains in the sim and also their locations. For trains waiting at a red signal, the signal number is shown. If you are lucky, there will be a signalling diagram for the sim available on the Wiki and you can track down the location from that. Otherwise you need to do the Sherlock Holmes bit using the F2 information (either from the description or by right clicking on the TD and then clicking through to show the timetable). Where questions are sim specific, could you post in the relevant section rather than the welcome section as this will probably make it easier for future users with the same problems to find answers to their queries. And don't worry, it does get easier. I know the time difference makes it a bit problematic, but you will probably pick up quite a few tips and hints if you join one of the advertised multiplay sessions. Even if you don't feel confident enough to operate a panel in full public view, most hosts will be happy to let you watch and join in the banter using the F10 messaging or using Skype, TeamSpeak or whatever the host uses.
