I was made redundant (retired) at the end of May and have been informed by my ex-colleagues that a new initiative has been launched in the workplace, that of leaving a choccy or other sweetie on the desks of employees who have diligently turned their screens off at night to the save the planet and presumably the leccy bill. Unfortunately the placing of sweets appears to be done on a completely arbitrary basis and I am now the proud owners of three choccy sweets whilst other unused workstations have also been so rewarded. What does one do? Email the Director and tell him what a prat his IT team is, burst in and demand my sweeties or tell the press that the local Council is encouraging their staff to eat tooth decaying food whilst saving the planet and whose paying for all these anyway? Oh joy to the world and thank gawd I'm well out of the rat race.
