For those who have a keen eye. the sign up form for Crewe was 'closed' last night. I am printing said responses and bringing them with me to provide a 'dossier' of who attended. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow, and I hope there are no issues overnight between Chester and Crewe (there were between Chester and Manchester this morning) Log in to reply |

Looks like I'm the first one home, (soon to be) Mrs Dragon wanted food, and by the time we arrived at an eatery we had 10 minutes to wait for our train. It was a really enjoyable day, many hands made light work, and the hour and a half I spent at the simulator being 'control' made for an enjoyable afternoon. The timetable used was the Saturday 1960 timetable, it was pretty busy at the end and the beginning of each hour. Many thanks to all who came along, and thanks in particular to Andrew, David and Bob for making us feel welcome. Next year I might actually be running the show, and any Simsig members are welcome to come and visit, Log in to reply |

Just like to thank welshdragon for organising the visit, and to the other attendees for what was an excellent day out. Having no real experience of absolute block signalling it was a real eye-opener to experience it first hand; even moreso to appreciate just how much effort has to be put into a single move! The team at the 'box made us very welcome and eased us into the process, and also showed us all the simulator which controls the track circuits and fringe boxes. There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply |
