I am just wondering what will be the next sim released. I am not asking when it will be released because it's ready when it's ready. Also how well is the euston PSB into progress since I think it will be a good sim to play on. Log in to reply |

I'm hoping Euston should be out within two or three months. Depends on how many more bugs the testers find!

That's excellent news Clive... this is one I'm particularly looking forward to. Sounds as if testing (so presumably the sim itself) has been particularly complex. Jc92: Euston in 1960s mode shouldn't be chainable to Wembley Sub because of the era difference you mention; the DC Lines used to have a completely different kind of signalling (closer to US than UK practice really) so getting them to play together ought to present pretty insuperable problems. Having said which, this being a sim it's probably not that difficult to make it work well enough so who knows what will actually appear? I don't recall exactly when the DCs were resignalled but I think it was mid-80s, at which time Euston was still very much as Clive has simulated it, so 1980s & later eras will be no problem (and thanks to Peter for reminding us that they have been played together in public). Class 92: I suspect even working out which sim will be next gets caught by the "when it's ready" factor - an unexpected problem with the next one scheduled, or a developer or tester with unexpected time on their hands could lead to the order changing on almost a daily basis, quite apart from the task of forming the sims being released into an upload and putting them on the site. Being a more recent member you may not be aware that sims are developed by individuals/small groups working independently, and so the rate at which progress occurs is completely unpredictable. Hence Euston (and a couple of others that have been shown at meets) still under development many moons later, while the likes of Oxted appear completely out of the blue to surprise & delight (should that be frustrate? ) us all. So looking at the map on the simulation manuals page, it seems that there are at least 7 under development: Warrington Wigan Wallgate Preston Walsall West Wales Leicester Great Western Railway between Reading and West Drayton We saw a sneak peak of the first two at the last online meet. However I recently heard while conversing in a game that a number of completed sims, including some on mine and other wanted lists, are on hold as certain people have, apparently, expressed disatisfaction with the appearance of the layout of the sim or parts thereof. Leicester is, I hear, among those sims. This, if true, is a real shame considering the amount of work that the developers have put into building the sims in question. Dave Log in to reply |

I can hazard a guess if Preston is in development then it could be tricky layout-wise being it has 10 panels and a very confusing layout generally.

I Counted each segment, but nice to know it only has 3/4 but the layout crisscrosses a lot so could cause many problems with the layout of the sim. and plus if the b'pool branch, Heysham/Morecambe and other branches are being included then might a tight squeeze! (though it is going to be a mental and rather fun Sim to work/Play! as it combines the size of Carlisle with the traffic of Manchester Piccadilly making a truly magnificent combo!!) Yes, I've seen the CCTV panel in photos it's a (fairly) new addition, isn't it? and ah okay but with the sheer traffic, It handles it's not even like 1 panel is quieter than the rest! will be rather fun (if a challenge) to run solo when it becomes a sim!
