Hello all,

As I am writing my summer 2011 TT still for Sheffield, I cant find the shunt working from the station sidings. I have found some from 2007 on 1H07 Website but not all of them are reused in 2011. I dont know the area to know what they do either.

So I have a seed to Sheffield DSS with 14 units on and splitting them to one unit for each turn out of Sheffield. At night thry mainly terminate in P8A or P6A suggesting to me that the USS (either U2 or U1N/U1S).

Does anyone know which lines they generally stable on? Ive a feeling all 14 units on the DSS is too much. I also have 5Y03 a 5H03 (for 2H03) coming out of the Sheffield HS. Does anything come out of there?

Also I have a 2R16 Terminate at Sheffield P8A at around 8am I assume its empty to the up siding and then spare?

Any help appreciated..remember this is for a Saturday TT and not a weekday one.

Regards,

James.

Most of the ECS moves will be as per the 2009 T/T very little has altered over the past few years - most units are serviced in HS an there are a few shunts between the fuelroad and back into HS. Most trains will be seeded from HS directly to the relevant platform.

When catching the 0345 to Manchester the platforms were usually already occupied for the next days service

P1 - Empty
DSS - 2 units
P2 - 3 Units
P2c - 1 unit
P3/4 - 2 Units in each
P5 - Unit for 0345
US1 1x TPE 185
P6 Empty
P7 - 1 TPE 170
P8 - Empty

Normally Inbounds terminating in 6 or 8 at night are coupled together and moved over to HS for servicing bef0re being sentback to the platforms for cleaning

Nrmlayy there ar still 3 units in the HS/Fueller and a 2 Car on the CWM road

melds comments are pretty much spot on, theres plenty of activity overnight, units come into P8 and 6 for internal cleaning, before shunting south, either for stabling in shrewsbury road, or the station sidings. theres also external cleaning in the shunt spur where the carriage washer is, and fuelling at shrewsbury road. if the overnight TPX ECS is a 185 is normally sits at the north of USS 2. if its a 170 it uses 2C a fair bit (might shunt over to 7 or 2 nearer to booked departure though?).

also, theres untimetabled 0s00/5s00 (whichever you fancy) in and out of shrewsbury road to signal 102 to get stock into its correct positions throughout the night and morning.

edit: need to get a life. HST bashing at 00:30 cant be good for me

Right James solved the 2R16/2H03 part

2R16 arr P8 0740 then shunts to HS although CWM would be acceptable and then becomes 5H03 into P1b to form the 0803 Sheffield - Cleethorpes

Ahhh that adds up, thank you very much! I have a 142 for 2R16 so since H03 is allocated for a class 153 ill swap the 142 out.

I did make sone assumpsion that 2R16 does 2H05 1200 cleethorpes and had 2H03 as a new unit (5H03) from the HS. so now I need a unit for 2H05 but I think there was another unit that terminates before 1200 with nothing to do...Ill have a look later.

Most my other units should be in the platform then..I have 2 due out of P2B, one from 3A, one 4A (or B), one 5B and i believe 2 from P1. 5L01, the ECS to Barnsley is due from DSS so that one is right at least.
would some 5am and 6am starters from Sheff still ne shunting at 0430? Also I have these shunts as 5L01, 5P53, 5P51, 5R01 eyc..these should be 5S00-1, 5S00-2 etc then?
