Hi all, my next challenge was going to be Saltley but giving Exeter a go. Some very informative previous posts on potential problems which have helped already. Note to self - must remember to watch for the level crossings which need manual lowering. Congrats to all once again. :cheer: Mal. Log in to reply |

Well you can jam down Silk Mill as it's now a bridge.

When you've learnt it, you might want to try the 'single line running on Dawlish seawall' scenario. Provokes some very unDevonian curses! Hi all, I'm loving Exeter, but had something interesting happen between 0405 and 0425. Signalled 5L20 from New Yard into P1 and tried to lower Red Cow crossing. I then started getting messages that a road vehicle was stuck on the crossing and it seemed to take ages to sort it. Just wondered if this is a level crossing equivalent to 'wrong food trolley'? Mal. Thats the problem these days people always trying to jump the barriers.  Last edited: 11/12/2011 at 13:22 by Class 92 Log in to reply The following user said thank you: delticfan |

Just had the same happen again at 0520 when trying to signal 5M02 in. Managed to get 2M02 away first time though (Phew!). Have to keep an eye on the barrier loonies at Red Cow, lol!

Well I've made it to 06.31 single-handed (phew!). Feel like I've done a full shift. I think I'm using all the tips to make things a bit easier, eg, auto control at Eggesford. Just wonder if there are anymore suggestions I can try in order to keep a grip on everything? The big thing so far is stacking up the penalties due to not raising crossings after trains pass. Do I take it correctly that Silk Mill xing can be lowered well in advance of trains without penalty? I'm using the default t/t. Cheers. Mal. Log in to reply |

A flyover has been built at Silk Mill and the LC removed. The sim recognises this and you can leave Silk Mill permanently down without penalty.

Exeter is one of my favourites, I must admit. Although I do tend to forget the east end sometimes....made slightly better by Silk Mill being taken out of use though.

Brilliant sim though and the first big scrolly I've tried. Log in to reply |

No, on the old version you used to have Paignton South Level Forum as well as Paignton North.

Still on the level crossing theme, I'm regularly getting a warning 'crossing blocked by road vehicle' on Stole Canon and Red Cow xings. The only way to clear it seems to be by cancelling route, raising and lowering again. Is this a problem in the core code? Just catches me unawares when the t/t gets busy. Cheers. Mal. Mal, it is simulating a car getting stuck on the crossing with the barriers down, you have to raise the barriers to release the car, then re lower them again. Hope that helps.
