Same here. 6E86 in the default timetable with exactly the same problem. Had to remove the train in the end. I can't see where 0E86 is supposed to be routed to, so i did a main line shunt which produced a wrong route message. Any advice would be appreciated. Log in to reply |

The way that works for me is routing the train on the down goods and halting it as signal 212. The loco detaches as per the TT with no intervention. I run the loco into the U&D Camphill Through Siding S458/467, and then to S214 on the Down and Up Goods via S477 on the Down Main. The loco then re-attaches the rest of the train as per the TT; once joined the train can be routed out via the U&D Goods or the Up Main.
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: John |

6E86 is giving me a minor headache with the detach - sim seems to think the loco is at the wrong end, so I get "Ready to depart but train 6E86 in front" message! Yet the DEF0E86 line in the TT looks right to me (unless I've missed something blindingly obvious). Routing it thereafter shouldn't be a problem.....

Has me a bit flummoxed to be honest - must be an error in the timetable somewhere that's making the sim think said service is being pushed/top 'n tailed from Daw Mill!

I suspect that the loco/train are in the wrong place. Have you routed it exactly as Splodge detailed in #3 in this thread? If so, which signal is the loco next to, and what direction does F2 say it is facing?

Looks like I was wrong routing it (onto the UDG line then the Lawley St Through siding) rather than the DG. Will roll it back to the previous save and try again with the suggested route! Thanks for the prompt replies.

To quote the manual, on the wiki.... "Many freight trains run-round at Washwood Heath, between signals 212 & 479. The loco runs round via signal 467 (U&D Camp Hill Through Sdg and 214 Dn & Up Goods. Care will be needed to work the loco across the main lines without delaying through trains. Also need to watch out for another train arriving whilst in progress, the second may need holding on the Down Gds to avoid blocking the Down Main. The North panel will need advising on routing said trains." Noisynoel Last edited: 06/12/2011 at 10:47 by Noisynoel Log in to reply |

Don't know if anyone's picked this one up yet, but 5M56 (ECS from New St to Tyseley depot) is timetabled to run from the up Bordesley lines to the DEP road in the depot, yet there's no obvious route that allows this! Only ways in are from either the down Snow Hill (shunt) or the Up & Down Goods. Timetable edit needed perhaps?

4Q11 needs to replace it's first stoping point "Kingsbury JN" with "Kingsbury Branch JN" otherwise it will not turn around.

The timetable description for the timetable says - 'Semi-fictional TT based on 15th October 2009. The booked passenger and freight trains are suplemented by fictional trip workings...' I'm struggling to run this single handed and would like to lighten the load by editing the timetable to remove the fictional workings. Is there an easy way to indentify them? For instance the freights that run via New St to appear on the Up Derby might be some of them, unless of course freight does run via New St in the small hours. Andy L Log in to reply |

In the real world all run-rounds are normally carried out in on the Down Goods between Washwood Heath No.1 and Duddeston Jcn. The challenge then -as in the simulation - is to weave the departing train between the numerous passenger services. With regard to the poster about freights via Birmingham New St this happens very rarely. In the most cases, freight train crews do not possess route knowledge through New St as their duties do not in the main include passenger or charter work. The semi-fictional is purley because some wise ass would tunr round and say train xxxx never actually ran on 15th Oct 09! Noel Noisynoel Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Andy L |

Noel, I wanted to have 4O63 cross a pass at Dorridge UPL (multiplayer) and found it too long (550 m). Would the length of this train be correct? Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |

All the lenghts are correct to the nearest 50m. Not all trains will fit in all loops/passing points. Certainly in my neck of the world, very few of the channel tunnel freights fit into the loops at Paddock Wood. The rest of the loops were extended many years ago to accomodate them.

Two 1G30s appear on panel around 1425. Not sure how that's handled in the real world but certainly confused me for a few minutes.

Have been having a problem with the Lawley St Inland Customs shunter in the evening period - 0M93-S comes out just after 20:40 on a run round shunt move and gets sent into the through siding as per timetable. Shortly after (often just after I've phoned for the slot to send it back in and been granted it!) 4G85 is sent out by the shunter on a transfer move to the FLT. Net result is a Mexican stand off, as both want to occupy the same siding! Is it possible to edit the TT on the fly for the latter to send it onto the main line or Up goods (to avoid getting a wrong route error message) then shunt it back after the light engine goes? Or is it 'game over' and back to the previous save point? Any help would be most welcome!!

You could run one of the trains on the Up Goods up to SY213 and reverse it back from SY464 to work around the clash. Are either of the trains running late? Log in to reply The following user said thank you: GMac |

Yep - 4G85-S should be sent out at 19.00 when I look at the master timetable, even though 4G85 itself doesn't arrive from the Walsall direction until 20.16! (which it did). I think a quick TT edit to 21.00 (for the shunt) is the answer to this one....
