Early Routing 1990 WTT 25/01/2012 at 10:55 #28169

Only just started the sim using the 1990 WTT I find that a diesel-hauled ECS movement (5M91) is approaching on the Up Slow. Its destination is the Down Carriage Shed. However, whichever way I look at it there is no way that the train can be routed from the Up Slow to the Down CS without a complicated set of shunts and reversals at Euston - for which there is no facility built into the schedule for this train.

Any advice please?

AKA The Rat Hole. Not only does it go under the DC Lines diveunder, it burrows under the Regents Canal too. Apparently the gradient climbing out is was rather vicious and the banner repeater on the approach side (repeating 94 signal) had a signal post telephone; on a damp day, drivers would wait there rather than drawing up to the signal, to avoid having to restart a train on that gradient.

Before I leave the subject of early routing, I notice a number of early ECS arrivals in Euston with no scheduled platform. Where would these normally be routed?
