I thought I'd report this in case it might've been a bug:

Train 2K26 (in the August 2006 timetable) stopped on the up line at Dunfermline Queen Margaret and called to say it was going to be delayed and asked if I wanted to replace the signal. I chose yes and replaced signal EO714 and left EO716 in automatic mode. EO714 proceeded to wait 120 seconds under approach locking. Every event so far is normal and as expected. However, once the 120 seconds elapsed, 2K26 received an "adverse change of aspect (ACOA) at signal EO716" . When I scrolled across to find out what had happened, the TD for 2K26 had moved into the berth for EO714, and EO716 was red (should've been yellow) even though the train list pane still said 2K26 was "Delayed at Dunfermline Queen Margaret".

Some additional information that might be useful:
2G23-2 arrived at Dunfermline Town on the opposite line a few seconds after 2K26 arrived and proceeded to call me saying it too was going to be delayed. It is still waiting at EO715 (at Dunfermline Town).

Scrap that - a box has just popped up telling me there is a track circuit failure in the Charlestown interlocking area :whistle:. Very weird coincidence that! I wonder if there's some cable-thieving going on around there or something…

Just to be clear here- have you concluded that the ACoA was caused by the TCF knocking back the signal?

Sounds like the driver of 2K26 (or someone they know and are colluding with) nipped out of the train and nicked some cabling :blink:

that's even better than wrong food trolley. "train delayed due to driver stealing cables, await TCF/SLF/points failure"

That is correct. The TCF happened to occur between EO716 and EO714 immediately after the approach locking on EO714 timed out, causing EO716 to drop from yellow to red, in turn causing the ACoA.

The train probably saw 2 adverse changes of aspect (first to yellow, then to red) while it expected to see only one after the phonecall to the signaller.
