The problem, for those unfamiliar, is that while the sims were always 32-bit code, the early sims used a 16-bit installer, which won't run under Modern Windows (I don't think the old installers will run on 32bit Windows 7 either, as the underlying 16-bit subsystem has been totally expunged).

PS Checked today and was happily running Kings X under Windows 8 32-bit Consumer Preview ..... So that's that beta tested ... ( PS Was a Win 7 upgrade so not a new install, but ran perfectly ! ) Just in case anyone was wondering.

What the quote appears to be getting at is that whilst it would not be allowed to sell a copy to anyone, to transfer it for no profit would be permitted. The way I would read it is that if a person wanted to ZIP the files from a working installation and then send that file to someone else to UNZIP on their computer then that would be within the SimSig licence, providing of course that the sim in question had at some point been released officially. Yes, however that's Clive's manual for Euston, not Geoff's manual for Liverpool Street, you can't just take a licence from one piece of software and apply it to another.

It would be better I think to let Geoff come back with an answer as he may put the Liverpool Street sim in to a downlaoder package that all can enjoy on windows 64 bit pc's in the next couple of days.......

I'm going to need some more time on this - unless somebody sends me a zip with the exe and timetables, I can check it and upload it. I was going to release the latest version as a beta but it has too many bugs to be playable.

Geoff, I have it on an old computer (as with all the other original paged sims). If nobody else can find it easily, I will dig it out for you later. Log in to reply |

The ZIP won't work because the setup file contained within it is 16-bit. I have the ZIP easily to hand, but cannot install the programme to get the exe needed out! Log in to reply |

To avoid any further aggravation, .zip of extracted .exe and .wtt now sent to Geoff. At the risk of repeating myself, should now all be in hand.

Now in the download area (old simulations). Note that it is simply a repackage; the simulation itself is still very old. Thanks to Postal and others.
