Train Entering Options/Rules 29/05/2012 at 10:58 #32631

I'm having trouble with working out exactly what certain rules and features actually do, as I've fallen foul of things not doing what they say before.

This particular query relates to trying to get a train to enter at least y minutes after another train has exited the area, but can I set this up so that the train will not enter early, but still take into account it having been out of the area for y minutes.

I see there is an "Enter on Time" function - the Wiki says "Ticking this box will cause the train to always enter on time overiding of any delay settings on the Sim." Does this also override the rules?

Example (not a direct axample, but the principle is correct):
South Humberside - empty coal train 4R03 exits the area into Immingham HIT at 0100. It loads off sim, and enters as 6F03 at 0245. I have a rule saying 6F03 cannot enter until 80 minutes after 4R03 has exited the area (to simulate a minimum time required to load said train). By using the "Enter on Time" function, will 6F03 enter at 0145 regardless of how late 4R03 has exited the area, or will 6F03 enter after 0145 if 4R03 has been sufficiently late exiting the area?

Any thoughts/advice please.

Thanks.

God bless, Daniel Wilson

Any rule is an additional constraint to a train's movements, so in your example the entering train cannot enter until the rule is satisfied and so can only delay it beyond any other constraints.

The 'enter on time' if ticked should only force entry when there is no relevant rule (enter on time should only over-ride possible delays from simulation options eg trains delays, bad weather etc).

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Have you tried setting the entry time to 00:00? I think that will make it so it always enters 80 minutes later.
