As ever, They Will Be Ready When They Are Ready. However, the location of a new sim will probably be revealed by the end of the meet next month. Hi guys and thanks for thinking of me. I haven't deserted your forum, just been extremely busy with some local issues to have had time to play sims or contribute much. I've been looking in when I get time to catch up and missing the lively debate. Basically I don't think I've been able to give SimSig the screen estate it needs to make playing larger/wider sims pleasurable, so at the moment am setting up a new machine to play over 3 screens, as I've wanted to do for some time. This should reduce playing stress considerably. I'll post my final configuration here when it's up and running. As far as Firefox cookies are concerned, I recently upgraded from FF 7 to FF10 (no higher until the plugins I need are upgraded) and have had no issues regarding logging into the forum, with either version. Regards to Geoff and the team. Looking forward to trying out new sims when they become available. Last edited: 14/06/2012 at 02:51 by maxand Log in to reply |

" said:There are a fair few users getting the ... error when they try to visit the forum and to access the forum they have to delete all cookies ... Hence visiting SimSig is a pain because you lose all stored data pertaining to all sites and have to remember all your user names and passwords to get back into your regular sites. I actually come to this problem when I'm on my regular phone (hence slightly edited quote) where I can login but in the next session that I attempt to visit the website, I get a white screen with a message along the lines of you can't login, delete your cookies and try again. This is, of course, after ticking the 'remember me' button before logging in. If you don't tick it then it won't happen as you 'log out' after you end your online session. This is what I currently do as once you delete your cookies, you have to login again everywhere. Nil. Last edited: 14/06/2012 at 09:17 by Aurora Log in to reply |

Thanks for the tip about the "remember me" tick box.. It works, only 18 months of catching up to do now! Might it be an idea if the can't login message is modified to say "don't tick remember me box" as well as what it already says about deleting cookies? Cheers Mark Log in to reply |

I think part of the problem is when you leave the SimSig website open but don't do anything- I think you're automatically logged out, and then when you come back to it the site is confused because you ticked 'Remember Me', but have been logged out. A solution that works for me is to (at minimum) refresh the site every 30 minutes.
