Can any one help with some information? What is the SLU of freight trains between Crewe - Nuneaton / Crewe - Bushbury Jnc and v.v.? Also though I can get the timings at Stafford for Freight trains , how do I work out the other timings for a train working through the Stafford sim? Is it a case of trial and error or does any one know where a web site may have the info ?
This is for a possible tt based on an operational day for Stafford , [ 26th June 2012 ] that I am currently trying to work together.

For freight train timings your going to need a Working Timetable of freight trains that cover the area you want, there's no other way of doing it unless you have access to TRUST where you can look at the individual schedules for each freight train. As regards to freight train length limits, these are published in freight train loads books & vary from Origin point & Destination point of each trains & the route the train goes. A friend of mine who drives for Freightliner Intermodal at Crewe tells me these days they don't get issued with freight train loads books like they did in previous years. Luckily I have about 15 - 20 freight train loads books covering years from 1968 - 1996. Noe ;ppling at my Bescot Area Freight Loads Book dated October, 1991 the length limit between Ctrewe - Lawley Street or Bescot is 60 SLUs or 384m. The length limit between Lawley Street or Bescot - Crewe the length limit is 64 SLUs or 410m. Without a freight train loads books you will struggle to get the correct length of freight trains. Coal traoms should be easier as you are doing a timetable based on 2012 as most coal trains are worked by Cl.66s & isially haul either sets of 19 or 21 102 tonne bogie hoppers. If you stuck for length limits on any particular services then don't hesotate to ask & I'll look it up for you.

Thanks for the info 58050. I have just got my Freightmaster book [ Apr - June 2012 ] and there are timing locations for Nuneaton / Tamworth and Stafford but nothing for Crewe. So if you have any info on general timings for Stafford to Crewe then this would be of great help. It only needs to a generic timing as once I have the Stafford to Crewe info then I think the sim puts the other timing points in for you aka Norton Bridge and Madeley.

try looking at another WTT for stafford that has already been done?

it will give you an idea of point to point timings for all routes and train types
