Hi, just a quick message to say hello to all of you, I'm a southeastern train driver from Kent (don't worry I'm nice to the signalers), I currently work out of Ashford depot which means I sometimes get to drive those lovely news shiny 390's, most of the time, you'll find me on the Maidstone or Ashford lines.

Anyway - I have just downloaded the Wembley Sub sim and the timetable installed doesn't seem to be picked up by the sim - am I doing something wrong and it's working fine with Drain.

Many thanks,

Josh

The more recent sims work slightly differently to the earlier sims (if you want to let them) because the way that Microsoft tightened up access to certain folders in their recent operating systems. If you have a problem on any sim, the chances are that someone before you has had the same problem and it has been raised and discussed on the Forum so having a search is always a good starting point when you have a problem. This is certainly true of the disappearing timetables issue.

In this case, the answer is probably that you need to go into the F3 window of the sim and uncheck the "Use Public Folders" box. If that doesn't solve the problem, post back and someone will try and help.

Hi Josh,

Welcome to Simsig. In respect of your problem with the installed TT not appearing try the following:

1. Start the sim. start "New Game".
2. On the next bits, click "Next" then "Next" then "OK" to get rid of the window.
3. Press key F3 on your keyboard which brings up the options.
4. Select the "Control" tab.

If the "Use Public Documents folder" option has a tick by it, get rid of that tick by clicking on it. Then press "OK". Then, from the menu above the clock at the top-left of the screen, select "File" then "New Simulation". Press "Yes" when asked if you want to start a new simulation. Click "New Game" then click the "TT" tab. This may well do the trick and any installed TTs will then be available.

Hope this works.

Dave

Hi Josh,
Nice to have another railwayman from the Southeast corner of the world.. be carefull though you have a NR Kent controller, a SE train service manager (From KICC) and a London Bridge signaller on here, oh and a retired SE driver lurking somewhere in the background ;-) Could provide some interesting 'debate'

Hi Josh, I also enjoy Peterborough due to ARS, but I take it out for the station area and control that myself. It's one of the first sims I tried after getting the basics on Royston as it's an area I know well. I'm now having a bash at Saltley for the same reason (I worked at New Street and Solihull stations till 2001). I'd also recommend Lime Street as it's a nice single screen, but still plenty of scope for injecting failures/delays.
Enjoy Simsig.
Mal.

Hi DriverCurran,

Just changed a few weeks back to a brand new employee from Southern however it was SV - I think he has moved to a different part of the company, however not 100%.

Hi noisynoel,

Thanks for the welcome, I often feel for the London Bridge signalers when I see the queue on the seven signals some mornings. However I don't like being stuck in it and you never know we may have had a telephone conversation before.
