Kings Cross. I like it because there is plenty to do, but it's not a particularly complex sim - plus there's no level crossings! Looking forward to Three Bridges, which I think will be similar. Log in to reply |

NLL because its my local line. Thanks to the train that never seems to move from Stratford High Level I've still to get through the day with a better than 50% score.

I think Trent and LKX are probably the most used sims. LKX as a Single Player and Trent as a Multiplayer.

My favorite is Sheffield, my local sim and there's always something to do.

Cambridge and Exeter - I like long distances where you feel your trains are actually getting somewhere at a reasonable clip (I prefer the 1980s timetables so I can play with locos). Peterborough is also fun with grotty weather and lots of late running, when ARS is your enemy rather than your friend! I've tried Kings Cross but it makes my brain hurt - must try harder. I'm voting Bristol, even though I haven't played it much recently. I'm pretty new at this, and it was the first "real" sim I messed with after Royston. The layout is somewhat complicated, BUT, no slots, no level crossing... Lately most of my play time has been aimed at NLL. Log in to reply |

Trent & Sheffield for me, mainly because I spent my week's summer holiday this year travelling extensively through both areas. Sheffield is also my "local" sim. GM Log in to reply |

At the moment for me it's Gloucester, but when I'm feeling adventurous, It has to Trent, maybe sometimes Peterborough for the locality of it for me.

It's one of two but I can't mention either as they are currently in development :( But of the ones that have been released.....Kings Cross...The 1970's TT by Peter makes it quite a challenge! Log in to reply |

It really depends. I suppose KingsX was a favourite as was NLL until Cambridge, Sheffield and Trent came along. Now I sort of bounce around those three. Trent is quite a bit of a punisher and now and then I take a *quieter* stroll around some of the oldies. All in all I guess it really depends on how energetic and *sane* you feel when you start the sim and load up a saved game. Log in to reply |

Bristol and Exeter as they are local. Hence my interest in loading these with 1922 timetables (not that I was around then!) Log in to reply |

Started with Stafford (v.enjoyable), then NLL (educational and enjoyable) and dabbled with W'loo, S'oton, Drain & Liv.St. Sheffield, Bristol and Exeter are great, Swindon(old)and Westbury(old) were less so, but the SwinDid scrolly is much better. I found KX a bit hectic and need to improve my route knowledge here. I really love Croydon. Trent (Monday tt) is my present fun and very good indeed. Actually, this poll is a bit crude because it does not take account of times past. We have all started somewhere (like a 4-lever box?) and slowly graduated up to the likes of Trent. I have personally had huge pleasure on the way up, and often go back to some of the earlier ones to see if I can make a better job this time! In teenage years I 'got to work a 25-lever four track box with LC, and later graduated to a neighbouring 52-lever, with loops and a branch. It was all swept away in 1968, (and I got married), so that was that, until Simsig came along. Oh, rapture!! Log in to reply |

Currently Sheffield (testing the 1990s TT), though Trent, KX and one I'm testing have been featuring very heavily. I tend to enjoy '80s TTs more, as they offer more freight and shunting. Sheffield is great, but some of the modern TTs can be a little dull over 24 hours thanks to the clockface nature of the timetable. Bristol 1980s is great fun, as there is plenty of freight getting in the way! There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply |
