First, thank you to the developers for a great sim. It invokes memories of my father and I escaping from the ubiquitous family holiday in the South West to go chase trains along the various branch lines, which quite often involved passing in and around the Exeter area. I have come across one small possible problem. I had train 2B70 heading up to Barnstaple where it becomes 2J89 and comes back down the hill. This train is followed up by train 2B71, which crosses 2J89 at Eggesford. All going smoothly, 2B70 rings into report arrival at Barnstaple. Departure time for 2J89 then came and went with no call to report departure from Barnstaple. I forget about this for a while, and only thought about it again when 2B71 called into ask why the delay at Eggesford. When I check in the F2 list, 2J89 is still at Barnstaple and is "on telephone". He wasn't, and hadn't been, on the telephone to me. Assuming it wasn't his wife, why did the permission to depart call never come through? In the end I manually told him to go to the next station, but I think is probably cheating. Log in to reply |

I don't recall this as being reported as a problem before so am I'm at loss to explain. Anyway I have noted and filed for action. I'm not currently working on Exeter and I have no plans to do so in then near future but I'll look into this when I do. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! " said:...When I check in the F2 list, 2J89 is still at Barnstaple and is "on telephone".A status of 'on telephone' on the F2 list would normally be after the driver has received an Adverse Change of Aspect (ACoA) at some point, rather than calling the signal box. However, this could be complicated by the fact that there is no (real) signal at Barnstaple, so I'm at at loss to speculate further. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Log in to reply |

" said:" said:Just been looking at this Andy. F2 does display On Telephone when a train arrives at Barnstaple and also when it is ready to leave....When I check in the F2 list, 2J89 is still at Barnstaple and is "on telephone".A status of 'on telephone' on the F2 list would normally be after the driver has received an Adverse Change of Aspect (ACoA) at some point, rather than calling the signal box. However, this could be complicated by the fact that there is no (real) signal at Barnstaple, so I'm at at loss to speculate further. What I have noticed is that if you tell the driver to call back, the F2 status remains "On Telephone" for the whole period in which the driver has been told to wait. ie If you say Call back in 15 minutes then the train will show On Telephone for that whole 15 minutes. Then it calls back again once that 15 minute period is up. That's the only scenario that I've been able to get F2 to display "On Telephone" for any period of time. Updated these findings on Peters bug ticket. Andy Log in to reply |
