The Exeter sim's one of my personal favourites, as it provides plenty of variety whilst being just about manageable to run solo (as long as I remember to raise the non-auto crossings)! I've just started a new simulation (Summer Friday 2012 TT) with the Exeter St. Davids platform closure option. However, the closure has generated in platform 1, meaning I am effectively required to run single line operation to Exeter Central. Has anyone else ever come across this scenario and successfully been able to manage it? It will certainly require careful management of the RVL and St. Davids P3/Central P2 to avoid long delays/stand-offs. It might become necessary to terminate SWT services at Exeter Central (P1). This sounds like a challenge! Log in to reply |

I have hosted a multiplayer and forced one line between St Davids and Central closed with the Incident Control Panel and we managed to work round it without too many difficulties. Just be aware you will incur delays. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Ben86 |

Just completed this challenge- found it very enjoyable and managed it reasonably well. Thanks to all involved with the development of the sim. It's certainly possible to run the 2012 timetable with P1 closed, as long as you give priority to Exmouth/Barnstaple bound trains where possible (to meet passing loop timings). I did have to cancel a couple of the peak St. Davids/St. James Park shuttles and turned round some trains from Waterloo and Barnstaple at alternative Exeter stations. Final score was 86%. Can anyone do better?! Log in to reply |
