Is it possible to add shortcut keys to the new scrolly Kings Cross like there are in other sims? This would make it much easier to get from one end of the sim to the other quickly.

I guess the following keys could be used:

H = Hitchin
W = Welwyn
P = Potters Bar
A = Alexandra Palace or Wood Green
F = Finsbury Park
K = Kings Cross

Still, I am over the moon at this release of Kings Cross finally becoming a scrolly, just hoping next year will see the North London Line, Peterborough, Cambridge and Waterloo make the jump to scrolly.

Not forgetting the sims that are currently WIP.

Thank you guys for this,

I suggest that the numeric keys from 1 to 9 be used, cause it's easier for people want to see over the whole map quickly.

Thanks!

Can't use P or A

P - Pause Game
A - Answer telephone

Although if you were going to use letters then
B - Potters (B)ar
R - Welwyn ((r)elease) which is linked to Welwyn Control - most AB signalman have got one of these! (aka Hurdy Gurdy) [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welwyn_Garden_City_rail_crash]

I think the genral policy is to provide 1-0 as incremental steps across the screen and A-Z for specific locations. All charaters should be possible as hot keys are uppercase, whereas the control keys are lower.

Follow Kurt's Trent style, shift (letter) of duty name?
So on KX have:
^C = Cross
^F = Finsbury
^P = Palace
^W = Welwyn
^H = Hitchin
and with 1-9(+0) should be plenty.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

greatkingrat: you can place an overview window to the right side of the screen behind the main window, and move the right side of the main window to have a couple of pixels where you can click directly on the overview window. With this trick you can get back to Hitchin with one click

If you can run the sim in 1280 x 1024 screen resolution, you do not need shortcut keys. When the sim is loaded, move the main screen down, click on Show, select Overview, right click Overview, click on Stay on Top, then move the Main screen up and adjust to fill the screen. Clicking anywhere on the Overview will adjust the main screen to that location.

Of course as I read somewhere else on the forum you could also run two or more separate main screen view things. If you were really adventurous you could probably run all 5 panels with 5 or 6 screens and scroll around within them. For example you'd have the Control Box and Messages box at the top as normal then below that a stretched out window to cover the Hertford North loop then a window for Hitchin, Welwyn, Palace, Finsbury and KingsX respectively. You might even consider reducing the width of Hertford North view to add a panel for Moorgate if you so wished to.

Might take a few minutes to set-up perhaps but I do believe it'll pay-off.

By the way, it would be really nice to be possible to save the window arrangements (maybe for each control box, or together with the savegame). Especially with lower resolutions (1024, sometimes 1280) you need to do tricks to arrange everything fine again and again...
