Is there going to be a release of Cambridge with platforms 7/8, as i would like to do a tt for 07-12-13, and there are quite a few trains for platforms 7/8.

an update to cambridge has been discussed before, and i think if i remember, there are no plans to rerelease it in the near future. there is a thread on it somewhere

I've used the Goods Line for my Olympics TT version of Cambridge, using Platform 7 as the 'TL' line and Platform 8 as Cambridge TC road 1.

I try to use the 'TL' line though at Cambridge with a through line stop ticked to save the 'passenger train routed onto goods line' message coming up and drivers phoning up for acceptance onto the goods line when sent to Cambridge TC.

What I can't understand is when trains stop at platform 'TL' a message comes up saying xxxx arrived at Cambridge (Wrong Platform)? This also applies if I want it to stop at 'TLS' but I've not tried 'TLN' yet. Although for trains coming from the south that I want stopping at the south part, TLS, they still want to proceed to the north end, TLN, anyway, though to get around that you manually reverse the train and it stops in the south end.

Am I doing something wrong?

Have you cleared the signal through to the north end? If so, the driver will continue because he thinks it's a platform alteration. If not, it might be a bug.

The first time I had the route cleared throughout on the through line and indeed proceeded to the north end. I then tried Cambridge TLS and kept the signal in the middle at red so when the train came from Shepreth Jn it should stop in the south end.

However the train stopped at the red signal and called up saying he was at a red signal, and upon setting the route he proceeded to the north end.

The only way I've found of getting around it is when he calls up to say he's at the red signal is to go in to F2 and reverse the train, then it actually stops at Cambridge south, still saying it's the wrong platform.

It may be that passenger trains are unexpected to stop here, as class 5's don't report wrong platforms here from what I recall.

There will be some manual work of reversing trains to get them where you want them to stop, but I'll upgrade the TT if a newer version is released.

That doesn't seem right. The TL and TC road 1 (though the latter has shifted sideways) are still there. Platforms 7 and 8 are on what were the up and down goods lines.

The logic for the through line is somewhat complicated. In general trains aren't expected to stop there except temporarily either to reverse or to go into a real platform. As the manual says: "A train will only "arrive" on the Through Line once it has passed the central crossover."

Yeah but im not sure how you get a train to stop there. do you have the path and line set to gl. does gl in this case mean the north jn goods loop?

Indeed, however I used artistic licence instead. The main point is that 7/8 is also used for GA/FCC terminators from London, and these two lines have signals at both ends.

I could use the GL lines for through XC and some King's Lynn FCC services that use 7 or 8, however having the terminators set to double ended signalled lines means 4 lines would be used, looks a bit out of place when you are simulating two platforms only.

And as previously mentioned, the TL is my preference as it's not a goods line, but one has to be used at somepoint.

Of course, anyone is free to alter it to their own taste, but that's the formation I've decided on, not having a nag at you Clive or anyone, just merely stating you can change what you like on the TT.

Thank's for the info on the TL, makes sense now, it does at least perform a stop gap until a modern version is released
