Josh If you go down the topics in this section of the Forum you'll find that nearly all of your suggestions have already been discussed at some length and the consensus is that they would all make good sims. Unless there are any already in development, I wouldn't hold your breath as the average sim takes about 4 years of work from a developer before it is of a suitable standard for release. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

Severn Tunnel Junction is part of Newport, and Swansea is Port Talbot Panel. Looking at the diagrams for Port Talbot, and its twenty-nine interlockings, that would be a very large sim. Log in to reply |

Newport Panel has now been demolished - in March I believe. There were significant layout alterations at several places that the old Newport Panel used to control, Severn Tunnel being one of them. Log in to reply |

" said:by GeoffTrue, however if it also says this on the Conflict of Interest page: The Wiki said: Geoff very sensibly takes the view that, although there is the potential to work right up to the boundaries, he wishes to keep a clear margin so there can be no possibility of problems arising. There is one positive aspect for those of us who prefer playing hertiage timetables instead of the 'modern' era ones & that is the posibility of these sims on the banned list due to conflict of interests maybe done on the basis of the older layouts being produced as sims nefore the involvement of 'TRESIM' & as a result timetables based on British Rail era only. Which for me gets thumbs up.

Perhaps a note of hope for those who feel a little disappointed that their favourite signalling area(s) can't be done for the said contractual reasons (which I totally understand and agree with) nevertheless, Marylebone IECC was firmly on the list of "never-never" sims less than a couple of years ago and yet look what we have now... Marylebone IECC sim released AND which includes some proposed future additions! To (mis)quote a certain James Bond film title... "Never Say Never..."! Who knows what the future will bring? It brought us Marylebone IECC! (daydream mode on) Wouldn't it be wonderful to have say Oxford-Leamington sim which could chain with Marylebone. Now THAT would be a real monster of a sim! Perhaps a Leamington Spa & Fenny Compton sim, that would bridge the gap between Marylebone and Saltley. Stephen Fulcher in post 44284 said:Severn Tunnel Junction is part of Newport, and Swansea is Port Talbot Panel. Indeed, although I had no idea it had so many interlockings. How many route miles does Port Talbot PSB have control over? AFAIK the boundaries are Llantrisant / Llanharran (on the main line), Cowbridge Road (VoG line), Llynfi Jcn & Margam Abbey Works East Jcn (fringes to Tondu, which could also be included as an afterthought), Jersey Marine South Jcn (fringe to Neath & Brecon Jcn), just south of Pantyffynon (fringe to the station of the same name) and the boundary with Pembrey & Bury Port. It does, of course, also have the "back route" from near Llansawel to Morlais Jcn whwere it links in with the Heart of Wales line. Dave Log in to reply |

Port Talbot has a lot of interlockings because while the route mileage is low, it is also very complex. E10k Relay Interlockings aren't small things, there is a definite tipping point at which it's more practical to have two smaller interlockings than one large. Cheers for the info James. Steamer in post 91194 said: 32 miles Llanharan- SwanseaThanks for that Steamer. I got the fringes from the "Block" tab of this page: http://www.signallingnotices.org.uk/signalbox_detail.php?sb=33&c=&l=P Would make a good sim though if anyone ever goes ahead and decides to develop it.
