Wembley Sub v2.216, default TT S212 is stopped at Stonebridge Park at signal 35, waiting for a route to be set to the LU depot. 2D86 has stopped at 37. Thinking to expedite matters I set a route for 2D86 from 37 to 35, not realizing that the overlap extends way past 35 (arrowed), thus making it impossible to set S212's route to the depot, which requires the points ahead of it to be set to reverse. Resigning myself to another ACOA and 2-minute delay, I cancelled the route at 37, but surprisingly cancellation took place immediately and no ACOA occurred. I can now set S212's route to the depot. Why was there no ACOA from 2D86? Last edited: 14/06/2013 at 13:04 by maxand Log in to reply |

Because the signal didnt clear in the first place! The driver of 2D86 is just staring at a red signal, not knowing what you're doing ahead. An 'Adverse Change Of Aspect' only occurs when the aspect changes to a more restictive aspect which in this case, it did not.

Because there's no Adverse Change of Aspect! Signal 37 had not cleared and therefore the route can be cancelled immediately, with no time out and no aspect change. EDIT: Wow, three replies at once! Why would there be an ACOA? The signal can't even clear to allow 2D86 to move forward. There's no subsidiary signal with Signal 37. Thus it can't clear until 2S12 departs Stonebridge Park and clears that section of track-circuited track plus the overlap past Signal 35. Have I missed something here? Nil. I might be wrong, but is it because no change of aspect occurred?
