Following on from this thread would it be possible to have trains entering late but without the possibility of subsequently failing at a station? As the OP says, it would be nice to receive trains late and get them back on time (or at least not as late) by the time they leave the sim. Currently if you feel like simulating a major off-area debacle, and crank up the "train delay probability" / "train delay amount" sliders accordingly, you'll quickly wind up with multiple failed trains cluttering up the place and preventing any chance of recovering the service. Surely could easily be done by users (or also timetable writers) merely editing a timetable and specifying a 'later than original' entry time? However, on the development side, perhaps all future simulations (including refreshes) could include scenarios adding delays to trains entering from either a certain entry point or even just all entry points (in either case, excluding internal ones (e.g.: Hornsey EMUD on KingsX)) - as I believe has previously been done in at-least one previous simulation(?). Any views and / or opinions expressed by myself are from me personally and do not represent those of any company I either work for or am a consultant for. Log in to reply |

" said:Surely could easily be done by users [...] merely editing a timetable and specifying a 'later than original' entry time?Sounds labour intensive. Actually, thinking about it, ( :doh ) a more convenient method would be to interpose "BLOK" on both lines at Biggleswade (for example) for a few hours, thus preventing any trains entering.
