A quick heads up for everyone attending the meet on Saturday. The arrangement at the Railway Tavern is that once a minimum bar spend is reached, the function room is provided rent free. This only applies to cash paid over the bar in the function room, so when you buy any drinks at the meet please do your best to buy them upstairs rather than at the main bar downstairs. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 09/07/2013 at 10:36 by postal Log in to reply |

I didn't 'email', I left a comment in the box.Hi guys - a very quick one from me.Just to make sure that nothing is sliding down the cracks, to whom did you send the e-mail? Certainly there is no problem about attending the meet as there is still plenty of room. Still just want to check that a pay on day is a right way to go. Nick. Log in to reply |

" said:Still just want to check that a pay on day is a right way to go.Not a problem. However, if anyone else is intending to attend and has not booked through the Events section, please could they post here or PM Postal. We have already had to advise the venue of the numbers attending so that they can sort out the buffet. We can probably tweak the numbers as long as it is only by one or two so late entries are still being accepted. If you do arrive unadvised, you may be asked to wait until those for whom we have catered have eaten before you dive into what remains of the buffet. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply |

Still thinking I might turn up on Sunday but I can't do anything until I know the timings. Any more info on the timings for Sunday would therefore be appreciated. Thanks. Dave Log in to reply |

Don't book travel until details are confirmed, they said..... Point is that no confirmation of the details was seen! Never mind... Dave Last edited: 10/07/2013 at 10:06 by DaveHarries Log in to reply |

Well home from a very enjoyable day. Thanks to everyone. Absolute chaos on the LUL, delays at Wembley with failures and TCF's galore. Probably just like a normal day in the office....... Bring on the next one. Geoff Log in to reply |

Excellent turn out - 38 at one point. Thanks to everybody that was able to attend. Hopefully Tim will post the group photo as the earlier one looks empty! Maybe it was lunchtime.

Probably just like a normal day in the office.......You got me there for a second. I was the controller on duty all day for the real LUL, which is why I could not attend, but for a moment there I thought I may have dozed off and missed that excitement (As if I would be able to doze if that kicked off.) We had 2 'runs' of Marylebone, one hosted by myself and one by NoisyNoel - can't speak for Noel's sim but at 0700 on my side there were several TC failures at Harrow, and the empty loco hauled set to form 1H17 suffered a technical issue while stopped in the platform at Wembley Stadium. At 0830 when we gave up things were starting to recover on the mainline, 1G10 (0715 MYB - Brum) was sat at Aylesbury waiting for the single line having been in the optimal position for a diversion via Amersham. LU was collapsing somewhat: 'severe delays' would be being advertised I'm sure. My thanks to Guy and his colleague from Chiltern for their advice on what trains should, and shouldn't, be cancelled. I was surprised at how much was, and indeed could be run despite quite a network-crippling failure. Official photographer Tim has a photo of the queue at Neasden if he'd care to upload it! I will also post the save once I can get home and retrieve it from my laptop It was great to see everyone again, and to see some new faces. See you all at the next one! Sorry for my useless start to LUL panel! I think someone was annoyed at me holding trains at reds at Watford, but I was dancing up and down the layout, forgetting about signals that need a single click etc, to be fair though I have not even tried the LU section at all before so it was completely new to me. I had to hand back as my brain was about to blow! Good to have a chat with the rest of the team though, and a catch up with Andy, Paul, Bill etc Log in to reply |
