Afternoon all, I am working on a WTT for the Gloucester derailment recently. I have a train that arrives Gloucester as 1V02 (0537 Birmingham New St - Gloucester) which I am putting into platform 2 at Gloucester. The next working from this platform is train 1L00 (0710 Gloucester - Stanstead Airport). At the same time it seems that, despite the derailment at the Lydney end of the station, RTT (Real Time Trains) says that train 1M00 worked through from Cardiff Central and into Platform 4: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/P30107/2013/10/17/advanced This suggests that 1M00 must have worked wrong line up from Lydney. Seeing as I can't program such a working (there are no crossovers) I intend to vary things slightly as follows: - run 1V02 as 2x 3-car Class 170 (instead of 1) - divide 1V02 at Gloucester with the rear (on arrival) portion departing again as 1L00 at 0710 - add a working at 0720 as 5M00 to put the remaining 170 from Platform 2 to Platform 4. The question is this. Am I better to let the proposed 5M00 work: a) into the UGL (or DGL) at Barnwood Junction, then back into Platform 4? or b) to G429 (at Horton Road LC) and then reverse into P4 from G446? Either route is possible but which would be best? I can't put the proposed 5M00 into P4 any earlier than 0715 due to another train, departing at 0715, using P4. And, due to closure of the lines immediately at the Lydney end of Gloucester station, I can't send 5M00 there. Advice welcome. Thanks, Dave Last edited: 19/10/2013 at 14:59 by DaveHarries Log in to reply |

Having not looked into this the first thing that springs to mind is that 1M00 ran via Bristol Parkway instead of Severn Tunnel Jcn

" said: Having not looked into this the first thing that springs to mind is that 1M00 ran via Bristol Parkway instead of Severn Tunnel Jcn Can't have done. There is a time given for a Lydney call. And even if the train had come via. BPW it would still have passed Severn Tunnel Junction. Cheers, Dave Log in to reply |

Dave, Just done a bit of digging at work & ran a replay for the morning of the 17th October...... 1V02 (formed 170398) formed 1L00 0710d , using platform 2 @ Gloucester. 1M00 (formed 170103) was diverted & arrived by way of Bristol Parkway & Charfield, reversing in platform 4 @ Gloucester. Hope this helps. Paul When in doubt - Contingency plan 2A. Someone didn't buy the milk - 2A. Someone sneezed at Swansea - 2A. A driver complains the cab is too cold - 2A.
