It would be nice if the old view buttons (1, 2, 3, etc.) were implemented for the ‘scrolly’ sims to rapidly scroll to the centre of each duty panel view. This would be really useful when operating complex sims, such as Kings Cross, solo where using the mouse to scroll left or right is slower (hundreds of mouse events to process) and more awkward than hitting one of the number keys (one keyboard event to process).

Also desirable would be to implement the 0 button on the scrolly sims to zoom out so that the entire sim fits on to the screen to provide an overview along with a window to show more historical messages.

Shortcut keys have already been suggested for Kings Cross, and I believe Peter was going to look at it for a future update.

The zoom out to fit the entire view on the screen is not needed, because you can open a separate overview window (View menu > Overview) which shows the full control zone. It is also clickable so that you can jump to specific areas in the main window.

Some scrolly sims do have hotkeys to jump to specific places.
Not all of the scrolly sims actually implement them (if I remember correctly the new scrolly King's Cross does not have them)

Some simulations have the number 1,2,3 etc acting as hotkeys and letting moving you from left to right (but actually this let you cover the all simulation only if you have big windows and high resolution, if not you have some gaps between this destination point).

Some simulations have hotkeys to let you jump to each workstation.

I am not sure what you are asking about 0 button is implementable. However you can already open a overview window as well as the normal one (and by the way, you can have more than one view window too). If you click on the overview window, the view on the normal window is centred on the point you pressed. And you can also move the point you are pressing in the overview windows (keeping down the left button, and dragging the pointer). This will allow to quick jump everywhere you need and also to quickly scroll.

cant this be done when you look at the overview screen but the problem with this is that it isnt big enough and kings Cross is busy during peak times even when you play it at normal speed(real time)

As has been said, Kings Cross was an oversight Hot-Keys should be the norm.

Don't forget that I believe that you can also have multiple View screens opened at the same time. It may even be possible for you to open multiple view screens on KingsX and have it covering almost all of the areas...or at least the most important ones.

If you had two screens opened on KingsX you could focus one on KingsX and the other on Hitchin then move them around as appropriate.

If you had three screens opened on KingsX, you could focus one on KingsX, one on Hitchin and the spare one used to scroll between the areas left. That way you can see what is entering the area, what is ready to leaving KingsX etc and also control movements elsewhere, etc.

Hope this helps.
