Rhyl - engine will not detach 02/11/2013 at 20:47 #50565

Hi

I am doing my usual with my 1922 Bradshaw - trying to simulate the 1922 timetable on today's layout.
Mostly it's going well, but in 1922 some trains split or join at Rhyl, so I have to detach an engine.
I have a problem with an up train which attaches at Rhyl
The first part (1M31A) has arrived and been shunted into the through loop.
The second part (1M31B) arrives and the engine should detach.
However, it will not detach until after the train has arrived and passed the station, gone past signal RL88 and then fouls the crossing points. Is this a glitch in the sim?
The attached file is the situation at 1635 (my first trial - so there are many timetable errors)

[And I need to repeat my warning to any professional signallers - this timetable includes trains passing on single tracks at places where there is no passing loop today]

Tony, from your save I can get the engine to detach as follows:

1. Reverse 1M31B in P1.
2. When it stops amend 1M31B's TT to detach engine (new front).
3. Adjust 1M31B's Stopping position to Far end.
4. Reverse 1M31B.

Detaching commences when train stops.

Thanks for that. I will try to remember to put that in the notes when I eventually post the timetable.
I still don't understand why it didn't detach on arrival, but at least that works.
(Except for the 3-minute delay for every reversal/attach/detach movement)

Which you can adjust using the custom join and detach times when you set up the train type [edit] . . . if/when the sim is re-released for the Loader.
