When trying to write a 2013 timetable for South Humberside, I have come up against a strange problem: any trains timetabled to enter from Santon FOT never enter the sim. Assuming it was a problem with my timetable, I tried running the supplied timetable instead. The same problem constantly occurred. I have found it impossible to get a train to enter from Santon FOT, whether using the supplied timetable or one of my own. Is there some clever code counting trains going in and trains going out, or is this a known issue? I am baffled because I am sure I can recall playing the sim in the past with the supplied timetable and seeing trains enter from Santon. Log in to reply |

Are you writing a valid TT? What TT locations are you using?

Yes; I'm using the same locations as the supplied timetable. From memory they are: enter at Santon FOT, then: Scunthorpe FOB Jn; Appleby LC; Elsham; Wrawby Jn; Barnetby etc. But the weird thing is that this seems to be happening with the supplied timetable too for me at the moment, at least if I roll the start time forwards to just before a train is due to enter. All of this is using Developer Mode with cleaned timetables showing no delay minutes, so the trains *should* always enter on time. And trains at all other entry points do seem to enter on time if they can - it's only Santon trains that never appear. I will post a minimal timetable that shows the same problem later - I created several last night to test different scenarios, and did not find any way to get a train to enter at Santon. There should be an example timetable attached. When I run the attached timetable in Developer mode, all of the down trains enter on time. None of the up trains enter at all. Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

Hmm, well, I agree that trains don't enter at Santon on sim version 2.218.76 in either your test TT, my Hybrid TT or the default 2009 TT. They definitely did work before, so I wonder if it's some hidden effect of the new system files or something daft. I've informed Chris and Geoff, and we'll see if they have any better ideas? Of note, I'm using Windows XP SP3. God bless, Daniel Wilson Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Forest Pines |

I'm on an up-to-date Win7. "New system files" was the only reason I could think of too to be honest! I have to say I'm kind of glad it's not just my system doing it. Thank you for testing it out.

Most likely a sim data issue. Most unlikely to be core code as South Humberside was an exe which contains all the necessary code, and all the other entry points work as far as I know.

That was what puzzled me - I thought as an exe sim it wouldn't be affected by core code changes. But it definitely *did* work, and AFAIK there's only been one release...

If anyone has a computer which does not have SimSig on, or has only the pre-loader system files on, could they give this test TT and release version of South Humbs a try. It will be very much later in the week before I could set up this scenario, as I'm not at home in the evenings until Thursday!
