Is there any way to prevent Leicester granting a slot? 6D32 has arrived at Sharnbrook Junction at it's correct time of 08.58 and is waiting its booked 09.18 path onto the Down fast. As 6D32 approached Sharnbrook Junction Leicester immediately granted a slot even though 6D32 is booked fast line. This is now preventing 6C31 departing from Wellingborough in its booked pathway and will now incur delay. I could run 6D32 onto the fast line early, but this would delay 1F13 and 1D14. I suppose I could preset the route for 6C31 from Wellingborough preventing the slot being granted, but only if I notice in time. Last edited: 20/11/2013 at 10:40 by John Log in to reply |

I think if you right-click on the slot button the slot will disappear. Though I have no idea how you would get it back again.

Kettering workstation give the slot for ALL trains. It is up to the signaller at West Hampstead to decide if the train goes slow or fast! In fact, if we send the train slow when it is booked fast and the train is delayed, the West Hampstead signaller gets the delay. In the box if we get the slot for a D/fast train, we call Kettering to confirm.

Perhaps a solution would be to have the slot granted automatically for anything booked towards the slow line (with a check for anything booked the other way first), ignoring trains booked fast line but with the ability to request a slot (by phone) for either early runners or anything needing to run slow line vice booked fast?
