Am I the only one who's getting tripped up by the spam checker when logging in?

I know my maths isn't wonderful but even I know 3 plus 3 equals 6... not so the spam checker, apparently. Likewise it doesn't seem to think 20 minus 1 is 19. I usually blag my way past it in the end... am I getting caught because I'm used to logging in by hitting 'enter' rather than clicking on the 'log in' button?

Any ideas gratefully received!

Spam checker?

When you login in certain ways, you have to prove you aren't a spammer by calculating the answer and then writing it in the box provided.

I just assumed I mis-typed!

Must be the new math. As Tom Lehrer says, it's so simple "only a child can do it"

As it seems a few people have experienced this I have added it to the bug board (10168).

So what triggers the spam checker, I've never encountered it.

I've just found what I'm assuming is the page in question upon clicking on the User tab whilst I was logged out. The spam checker in question is on there, but seemingly only on there (at the moment(?)).

I actually somehow stumbled across this the other day, and didn't think anything of it; nor did I have any problems answering the question by typing in the answer in numerical format (e.g.: 123).

After probably around 40 'tests', mostly giving correct answers but some incorrect due to simply misreading the question (minus/plus instead of plus/minus; perhaps the odd miscalculation), I cannot find any issues with the Spam Check (calculation) answers.

No Keith. It is happening with my login. Is it just to stir us "oldies" up? Click here

Am I missing something here? Does logging on from the 'User' tab rather than the home page give any different level of access? Otherwise why use it and have the hassle of the spam checker when you can log in from the home page without hitting it?
