Thanks to Sparky for putting this poll up. Sparky and I been talking about the possible numbers of users in Australia and, judging by the shop orders lately, there are a fair few of you. Hopefully, whether you've bought or not, some of you would be interested in meeting up!

Please only vote if you'd be likely to attend a meet in Australia.

We can't add Perth to there? An Aussie meet would be great, although I could do Brisbane around the 18th October.

It'd have to be Melbourne, about the same distance from Perth and Brisbane. Forget Sydney.

By a strange coincidence, I happen to live in Melbourne...

That's not what the voters say...

Melbourne doesn't even have any votes yet

I live in Canada, but it just so happens that I'll be in Brisbane from Oct. 6-12, and Sydney Oct. 13-16

Sorry the delay in getting further details.

It looks like Sydney is the most preferred location. There are a number of possible venues in Sydney & we may even be able to arrange a visit or 2 as they do in England sometimes.

There is no date set as yet but i will be looking at getting 1 very soon. I should have a date & even a venue by mid Feb once I get some time available (damn work getting in the way of the important stuff all the time).

I was looking at the same sort iof timetable as England, kick off around 1200 go through to 1800 or so on Saturday then a possible visit or 2 on Sunday.

Stay tuned for more details

Not quite sure what you have in mind as I've never been to a UK meet. Do you mean face-to-face socialization e.g. at a pub or club, or were you thinking more along the lines of a multiplayer game at that venue?

The 3-per-year UK meets have evolved into a face-to-face local multiplayer event, with a temporary network created in a pub function room. We meet from 12noon (sometimes with setup from 11:30) and start a hosting as soon as possible. This continues through until 5 or 6 o'clock in the evening, depending on who is still around. Then there is usually a curry/other meal organised for those who want to continue towards the later evening.

This is one possible format of a SimSig meet, and may or may not be preferable for those attending the Aussie meet. The very first SimSig meet (March 2006, Bristol) was just a bunch of people meeting up and having a drink.
